Document requirements for visa
- Passport with at least 6 months validity from the date of travel to Singapore.
- Duly filled Form 14A and 2 coloured passport-sized photographs taken within the last 3 months.
- Original letter from employer on company letterhead with company seal.
- It should indicate the company granting leave of absence, the applicant's designation, duration of employment and salary.
- The letter should carry the company official seal.
- LOI / Form V39A.
- Cover letter from the applicant.
- Purpose of travel - business or social.
- Travelling companions, including each name and passport number.
- Travel dates.
- Supporting documents as declared on Form 14A.
- Employment status.
- Financial documents.
- Proof of residence when the passport was not issued within South India and for non-Indian nationals.
- Letter of Authorization - not required for walk-in applicants.
Additional requirements for different categories
Applicant doing business
Business Registration Certificate / GST Registration Certificate and three months bank statement, either personal or company, or Income Tax Returns, either personal or company.
Employee in a company
Three months pay slips, ID card / Service Certificate and three months personal bank statement.
Retired person / pensioner
Retirement Certificate / Pension Certificate and three months bank statement. If expenses are sponsored by a son or daughter, their three months salary slips / Service Certificate and passport copies are required.
Landlord
Property documents, rent receipt and three months bank statement.
Agriculture
Three months bank statement.
Student
Student ID / Bonafide Student Certificate.
Staying with friends or relatives
Completed and signed Form V39A, invitation letter, and the host's passport and IC copies.
Business invitation or event
Completed and signed Form V39A together with the invitation letter from the business partner, company or event organiser.
Tourism group
A letter from the travel agent in India listing the names and passport numbers of all passengers, plus copies of tickets and hotel vouchers showing the names and passport numbers of all passengers.
Incentive group tour
A letter from the sponsoring company listing all passenger names and passport numbers and guaranteeing their return to India within the stipulated time, together with travel details and a hotel voucher carrying all passenger names and passport numbers.

Important notes
The Consulate General of Singapore in Chennai accepts visa applications from South India: Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
If the passport address is outside these regions but the applicant is currently staying or working within them, an application may be made in Chennai with supporting proof such as a Government ID, rental agreement, bank statement or certificate from the employer.
The supplied checklist states that visa processing in Chennai takes 2 to 5 working days.
If the applicant previously visited Singapore using a passport with a different name, this must be declared in Form 14A under Antecedent 4(d). Documentary proof of the name change - Paper Notification, Gazette Notification or Sworn Affidavit - must be submitted.
Processing time
The supplied document states that an application will be processed in 3 to 5 working days after it is submitted to an Authorised Visa Agent. The day of submission, weekends and public holidays are excluded, and some applications may take longer.
